The Black Hills Classic Sturgis Rally is the largest motorcycle rally in the world.
Attendance climbs to over 750,000 in banner years.
The Rally is a totally unique event that requires some preparation.
The staff of Big Al's have put together this page of what
every vendor must know to have a pleasant & profitable experience.

# 1 Apply for a South Dakota Sales Tax License as early as April 1st

# 2 Apply for City Vendor’s License

# 3 Food, Tattoos, Raffles, Oil Changes and Bike Washes require additional permits.

SOUTH DAKOTA SALES TAX:

Sales Tax Rate for Sturgis: 7.5%, Food is 8.5%.

Daily recording of sales is mandatory.

First time vendors are required to post a $500 SalesTax Bond

CITY OF STURGIS VENDOR PERMIT:

Vending license from the city of Sturgis is based on the following:

100 Square feet or less: $560

101-400 Square feet: $850

401-800 Square feet: $1000

801-1200 Square feet: $1200

Each Tattoo/Piercing Artist: $650

PARKING:

No Vendor Parking is available at the Big Al's building. Parking is a premium during the rally.

Parking may be found on side streets. The grocery store & community center also rent parking.

ACCOMODATIONS:

Make arrangements for accommodations well in advance.
